Review Policy

I know this is long, but please read it in its entirety before sending me a request. Thank you!

I AM currently accepting review requests.

I DO accept requests from self-published as well as traditionally published authors and am happy to do so! 

I accept both physical books and e-books. I have a Kindle and a Nook, so ePub, Mobi, or PDF are all okay by me. ARC’s, finished copies, or anything in between are all okay by me too ;) I’m not interested in audiobooks.

If I am interested in your book, I’ll accept a free copy in exchange for me writing an honest review when I’m finished, and I do mean honest. Just because you sent me a free copy does not mean that I’m going to give it 5 stars. I will, however, promise to be fair and I’ll detail the reasons why I gave it the rating that I did. It is incredibly rare for me to give a book a 1 star rating. By the same token, it has to be REALLY good to get a 5 star rating from me. I do give half stars on the blog. Amazon and other sites don’t accept half stars, so if I post a review on those, I’ll round up. I’ll post my review on my blog and on at least 1 site that it’s for sale on such as Amazon or B&N. 

I always get my reviews completed as quickly as possible, but life happens, so on occasion it could take weeks. As of right now I’m going to commit to having my review posted within 30 days of receiving the book, but if I get bombarded with requests, this may change. 

If (and this happens really rarely too) I absolutely cannot get into a book after 50+ pages, I may choose to not finish it. In the event that this happens, a review will not be posted. I will notify you if this is the case. 

What I WILL accept:

Mystery (DUH!) Since this is a mystery blog, all books should be mainly in the mystery genre. It’s okay if they have other elements too, but mystery should be the focus.

• I especially LOVE cozy mysteries.
• I prefer women sleuths.
• I enjoy supernatural elements.
• I love humor and sarcasm.

Thrillers

• I especially like psychological or legal thrillers. Not big on medical.

What I’m NOT interested in:

• Nonfiction of any kind
• Anything religious (I don’t care which religion)
• Romance/Erotica – I know this is a really popular category, but I don’t care for it. If it’s mainly mystery but has a little romance, that’s okay. But if the main category is romance and the sub category is mystery, I’m *probably* not interested, but you can ask and I’ll let you know.

If there is a specific date you'd like the review completed by, such as a release date, you can let me know that. Keep in mind if you need it really quickly I will probably decline, unless you get really lucky and I have nothing else I’m working on at the moment ;)

If your request falls within the criteria of what I accept and it’s clear you’ve read this policy, I will respond to you regardless of if it’s a yes or a no. If what you’ve sent me is clearly a copy and paste email or in a genre I don’t even read, don’t expect a response.
